Activated Charcoal
Deeply cleansing, draws dirt and sebum (oil produced by the body) from skin pores; non-irritating to even sensitive skin.

Arrowroot Powder
A starchy tuber vegetable that is dried and milled into a fine flour or powder; high in iron, potassium, folates, and protein, the powder is super absorbent, cooling and soothing to the skin.

Castor Wax

Hemp Seed Oil
Moisturizes without clogging pores and helps to balance oily skin; soothes and conditions skin for a healthy, youthful glow; contains gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), a powerful anti-inflammatory, which also promotes skin growth and new cell generation.

Jojoba Oil
Used historically by Native Americans for its many benefits, jojoba is not a true oil, it's technically a wax; it is extremely light, penetrates deeply, and absorbs quickly; rich in vitamins E & B, as well as minerals such as chromium, copper, and zinc, which nourish and protect the skin.

Kaolin Clay
The gentlest of clays, kaolin clay is suitable for all types of skin, even sensitive skin; it is a natural cleanser that removes dirt and impurities from the skin pores, it can be used as a very mild exfoliant; white is believed to be the purest kaolin clay.

Olive Oil
Used for skin care since ancient times, olive oil contains a wealth of nutrients, including vitamins A, K, and E, as well as squalene, which is one of the top emollients and moisturizers for skin.

Nettle Leaf
The dried leaves have been used for centuries, dating back to ancient Egypt, to keep skin healthy and glowing; a mild astringent, dried nettle calms and soothes irritated skin.

Prickly Pear Oil
Extremely high in essential fatty acids, omega 6 & 9, and amino acids, prickly pear seed oil has the highest vitamin E content than any other plant-based oil – 3 times the vitamin E contained in argan oil; it is anti-inflammatory, barrier boosting, and deeply hydrating; highly recommended for sensitive skin.

Rice Bran Oil
A prized anti-aging ingredient in Asia for centuries, rice bran oil contains large amounts of Omegas 3 & 9, vitamins B & E, and protein; it soothes, protects, and helps keep skin hydrated; “rice bran splendor” is a phrase used in Japan to complement a woman for her youthful complexion.

Primrose Oil
An excellent source of linoleic acid and gamma linoleic acid, which are fatty acids that support healthy skin; an excellent conditioner that is highly rated for mature skin to maintain smooth, soft skin.

Rose Petals
Dried rose petals are gentle exfoliants and help to balance skin pH.

Sea Salt
Rich in minerals to nourish and soothe skin; finely ground sea salt makes an excellent exfoliant when added to handmade bath soap.

Sunflower Oil / Wax
Sunflower seeds are pressed for their precious oil that contains significant amounts of vitamins A, E, K, & D. Cold pressed oil is made without any chemical solvents, which is preferred over solvent extraction. Wax and oils are separated in oil processing; sunflower wax is all natural and vegan, and gives balms a silky smooth glide, without the "draggy" feel of beeswax.

Titanium Dioxide
A natural mineral that is mined from the earth; typically used in sunscreens and in other cosmetics to give a white, opaque color.

Zinc Oxide
Used for centuries in India, zinc oxide has been used in salves to treat various skin issues; it has antibacterial properties, is soothing to irritated skin, and creates a protective barrier for skin.
